I just had a guy called ians2gau add me with a kitten avatar. He then sent me this message

10:58 pm - ians2gau: sup
my bro wanna trade with you
but he can't add you idt why @_@
try you please to add him http://steamvommunity.com/id=/SwaG/
Notice the V instead of the C in the link.

The add friend button on that page looks like it redirects to a login page where it harvests your steam details.

Be careful as they recreated the steam user profile page very well on that website, looks pretty legit if you don't pay attention to the URL!

I've had 2 existing contacts spam me without realising it the last 2 days.

One was a message with a link to a dodgy domain that looked similar to awesomescreenshot.com (normally a legitmate Chrome plugin and link)

Another one from a domain attempting to impersonate imgur.com, another very popular image hosting solution.

It was fro i-imgur.net

Be very careful about clicking on any links at all from friends, especially if they're on your list but you don't talk to them very often.

I ignored them and both users came back to me warning that they hadn't sent the link themselves and it was a virus/bot.

I had the Awesomescreenshot one, I opened it, upon this it automatically sent the link (something like "WOW WTF DUDE CAN'T BELIEVE YOU UPLOADED THIS" ->insert web address here <-) to my friend list, I read that changing your password, E-mail etc should fix the issue.
