I just installed this to take a look, its a very resource expensive way of doing things.

anyway here are the results:
My HDD:

Results:
Extreme speed, but it will still need to load the data from the harddrive at some point, ram is always going to be volatile (when the power goes off the data will be cleared).
I might give it a go for something, but it has taken out half of my RAM.

Anyway, i will let you know how i get on.

Yeah it mentions on there that it will use system memory but the results look good

Hmmm....considering you can get 16GB kits (2x8GB) for £50 these days, you could get 48GB or RAM for £150. Plenty of room for a RAM disk and plenty left over for normal RAM.
