Configuring R6 Siege to use the European Server as default
With the patch that came out last week, PC owners of the R6 siege game can now change their connection server to being in the correct country. This apparently reduces the chances of getting matched to someone the other end of the planet and improves downloads of new patches to the game.
To do this, find your 'Gamesettings.ini' file in your rainbow 6 directory.
Open it in notepad and at the end of the file change the last line from 'default' to 'weu'.
The example of a working config is below:
[ONLINE]
;DataCenterHint =>
; default 'ping based'
; eus 'us east'
; cus 'us central'
; scus 'us south central'
; wus 'us west'
; sbr 'brazil south'
; neu 'europe north'
; weu 'europe west'
; eas 'asia east'
; seas 'asia south east'
; eau 'australia east'
; wja 'japan west'
DataCenterHint=weu
If you have problems give me a shout when I'm online.
