FFF Facebook Group to be closed

Hey guys,

Just a bit of advanced warning. I'll be closing the FFF Facebook group to general chat sometime in the next week.

It will remain viewable to browse all existing content and admins will be able to post updates in the event of any issues with the main FFF site. But tbh, it's been working pretty well the last year or so, so it should be fine.

There's also been a lot of updates to the site the last year or two, so it's not like we'll be losing much, if any functionality. Especially now we have a decent photo gallery and a load of other new plugins to add push notifications and other features.

As it is, there's a fair bit of content that's split between here and the main site. Some people only post in here, some members are members on the site but aren't members of the facebook group, so not everyone see's everyone else's posts.

It would be much better if everyone just went to the site to interact with other FFF peeps.

Plus I also put an incredible amount of work into the site in my free time. It would be nice if it was utilised instead of this group.

I'm happy for anyone to make suggestions and receive input from you guys about this. If there's something you think we're missing on the site that you can do here, but not there, let me know. Perhaps I can get an add on developed to add the functionality. The only major feature I know is not available, is direct video uploading.

If you'd like to do that you'll need to upload to a dedicated video hosting site like youtube, vimeo or facebook and then embed the link on the site.
One thing we could do is leave the group open purely for the purpose of video hosting by direct upload to the group using the the facebook app, you can then embed that on the website. I'm open to suggestions.
Anything else should be easily achievable on the main site.

To ease the transition, when logged in you'll now see an array of shortcuts. These should make it much quicker and easier to post and share the types of things we share the most.

• Gallery Upload (Pics & Vids) - Links you direct to the upload/embed image or embed video page if you want to add something to the gallery. Mainly for gaming or FFF related stuff, but you can upload anything here. There's even a section just for screenshots, posting your battlestation etc. Please refrain from posting dick pics in here, try to keep those to private messages.
• Quick Post (Thread) - If you want to create a quick random thread in the general forum. Similar to just creating a wall post in the Facebook group.
• Random Videos - Links directly to the random video thread if you want to share random videos, but would prefer to not have them appear in the gallery you can pop them in here.
• Random Images/GIFs - Just like the random video thread, anything goes in here. If you don't want to put it in the gallery you can still post it here.
• Competitions - @CannonFodder does a wonderful job of sharing lots of competitions with us here in the facebook group. Sadly it will take an extra click or two to copy and paste it to the website, but at least we have a dedicated thread for it and a shortcut on the homepage for you so you can be lazy and not have to bother searching for it every time you'd like to share a link with us

Of course, you don't have to use these shortcuts for everything. You can still create dedicated threads to share stuff in the relevant forums.

The facebook group is now set to moderate each new post.

From now on only post in the group if you have any site related questions or want to upload vids to share by embedding on the site. Everything else will get deleted.

I noticed some of you who post on facebook haven't logged into the site in 6-12 months. If you need help resetting your password use the reset password form or message me on Steam.

The main reason I left it open for vids was for you by the way, as I noticed you're one of the people that likes to upload your own vids.
