Is it worth to update? Any improvements for gaming point of view from Win7?

Yep, will bring DX12 I think?

Probably makes sense in terms of security to upgrade too. Win 7 will be 6 years old by the time Win 10 is out

I have been told that with Windows these upgrades wouldn't always work properly and you should always do fresh installation. Is that the case?
I wouldn't like to install all games again but in case re-installing Windows that might be needed?

I assume that what they give free of charge is only upgrade over to old operating system so in case you want to do fresh installation you need to buy one.
Let's see when it's released.

Yea I agree Kukka, I give it 2 weeks before someone hacks it and uploads a bootloader + windows 10 to a torrent site.

I read they would try and push for a subscription kinda thing (similar to Office 365) to get some money out of it... Wait and see i suppose

I reckon they're essentially just going to give it to everyone for free to get as many people up to date and into their current ecosystem as possible. They're worried that Windows 7 will become the next XP and not bother to upgrade for years.

Tutorial here for installing it into a Virtual Machine so you can test the technical preview here. It's on a mac website, but virtual box works on windows too. Not got around to trying it myself yet. Will give it a go this way when I have a free evening though.

For me it looked like you get only update over the old Windows. I have understood that this could cause loads of problems.
