It looks like you'll be able to upgrade to Windows 8 for $40 if you're running anything from XP to Win 7.

I don't know if I'll bother upgrading from Windows 7, but it seem like a pretty good deal to upgrade, especially if you're on an older OS!

In my opinion im not going to upgrade to windows 8, i think it will be another Vista flop. Too many changes before the time has come for change. anyway only time will tell.

It looks like it'll be an incredible tablet OS and give iOS the kick up the backside it needs.

Not so great if you're a power desktop user or a gamer. I'd just stick with Win 7 for now on a desktop.

Just got my upgrade in the mail

Apparently 8.1 has been causing issues with mouse drivers for certain Steelseries mice.

It's also been bricking the Microsoft Surface RT Tablets, so they've pulled the RT version of the 8.1 upgrade!
