not surströmming but an other kind of strömming, i have smelled the sur strömming and smells bad, but ppl says it tastes better then it smells

Actually it's true that it's banned by airlines (at least by SAS). I know due to asked if they have this at deli store on Stockholm airport and they told not anymore due to some one had can of this on his carry-on and it had opened, started to leak, on air. Cost of cleaning plane had been 200'000 SEK so they are forbidden to sell it anymore at airport
Reason why i tried to find it is that on every year on our fist fishing trip we are tasting some disgusting food and I believe it's hard to beat surströmming.
