A neat extra feature which would probably be damn near impossible to impliment, but would be kinda cool is a little 'Users typing' box, which indicates which users are currently composing a reply

I'm starting work on a new forum this week and I need to order a new server, I might try the liquid web storm on deman hosting so i can create and destroy new images of the forum easily for testing
